Based on the frequency of search phrases in the weeks before the event, Singapore clearly won the title of the world’s most interested country in the impending Ethereum Merge.
The regions in the world with the most significant interest in the approaching Ethereum Merge were revealed in a recent analysis from CoinGecko.
According to the research, Singapore is by far the country that is most interested. Singapore came in first with a score of 377, more than 100 points ahead of Switzerland and Canada, who tied for second place with 286 points each. The remaining top five positions were occupied by Germany, the United States, and the Netherlands.
Ten search keywords’ frequency was analysed to generate scores, which were then added together to produce the overall ranking. These phrases included, among others, “Ethereum Merge,” “ETH Merge,” and “Ethereum PoW.”
In Switzerland, people searched for “ETH alone” more frequently than anywhere else on the planet. In Singapore, certain keywords, such as “Ethereum Merge,” “ETH Classic,” and “Ethereum,” had a specific potency.
Developers claim the Merge will occur between September 13 and 15. According to Bobby Ong, chief operating officer and co-founder of CoinGecko, it is anticipated to occur within those dates.

The top 8 ranks in this list appear to include countries with vibrant Ethereum networks, which may account for their high search rankings in this study.
According to Ong, when the Ethereum network switches from proof-of-work (PoW) to proof-of-stake (PoS), there would be “rippling impacts throughout the entire crypto world.”
The community on Crypto Twitter is busy and filled with expectations as the world waits for the Merge. Several people express optimism for the Ethereum community:
The Ethereum merge will reduce energy consumption by 99.9%
The major problem that halted Bitcoin institutional adoption was energy consumption
ETH institutional adoption is about to sky rocket in 2023

Others predict immediate consequences for Ether (ETH), the native coin of the network:
I think #Ethereum will dump hard on the Merge Date

Even major news outlets have attempted to report on the approaching transition.
In different ways, exchanges, miners, and developers from all around the region have also been getting ready for the event. For instance, although FTX declared that it would stop allowing ETH deposits and withdrawals on Arbitrum, Solana, and the Binance Smart Chain during the Merge, Binance US started enabling low-barrier Ethereum staking.
74% of Ethereum nodes were set for the transition before the Bellatrix upgrade, which occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
