Gary Gensler's First Crypto Interview After XRP Ruling; Details

Surprisingly, this will be the SEC Chair’s public statement shortly prior to his appearance before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He will speak about the committee’s review of the SEC’s budget for the next fiscal year 2024.

Crypto vs. Gary Gensler

Gensler is famous for his strong anti-crypto stance and his uncompromising belief in the SEC’s ‘come forward and comply’ approach. He has gained popularity among cryptocurrency traders for stating that all cryptocurrencies, with the exception of XRP, are securities.

However, the recent Ripple case ruling, which witnessed Judge Torres announce that XRP was not a security, may have a significant impact on the US SEC’s perception. Later Monday, Yahoo Finance journalist Jennifer Schonberger will do an exclusive interview with Gensler.

The US SEC will be examining a number of spot Bitcoin ETF applications from various financial organizations in the ensuing months.
