California-based video game giant Xsolla ushers in a novel payment method, allowing gaming enthusiasts to buy popular titles like Smite and Roblox using Ripple’s XRP.
XRP’s Ongoing Adoption
Ripple’s native cryptocurrency, XRP, is steadily gaining traction as various companies offer clients the option to pay for services with it instead of traditional fiat currency. The latest addition to this growing trend is California’s very own gaming juggernaut, Xsolla.
XRP Meets Gaming Giant Xsolla
Xsolla recently revealed that customers now have the ability to use XRP for purchasing games like Smite and Roblox, promising an unprecedented gaming experience. This development materialized through a strategic partnership between Xsolla and the cryptocurrency payment solution provider, BitPay.
XRP Rises on Legal Victory
A substantial turning point for XRP came in mid-July when Ripple secured a partial victory in its legal battle against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Following this ruling, the price of XRP skyrocketed by an astonishing 70%, briefly exceeding the $0.85 mark.
Despite being unable to maintain this meteoric surge, the legal win breathed new life into XRP’s market presence. Leading cryptocurrency exchanges like Crypto.com, Coinbase, Kraken, and more promptly reinstated support for XRP after having withdrawn it at the close of 2020 or the start of 2021, coinciding with the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple.
Today, XRP stands as one of the most traded altcoins in the U.S. market, rivalling even the prominence of Bitcoin alternatives.
In the eyes of analysts and experts, this legal victory has positioned XRP for potential future price rallies, while Ripple inches closer to a definitive win against its regulatory adversary.
