In the lead-up to the Bitcoin Halving countdown in the second quarter of 2024, it is going to be interesting to look at the Ethereum price forecast, as the momentum carried by the second-largest crypto could have an impact on the rest of the cryptocurrency market.
Bitcoin Halving: Not So Great For ETH?
Before the Bitcoin Halving in May 2020, the ETH price barely moved, but it reached a higher high around the Halving. Thus, expert Benjamin Cowen predicts a poor second half of the pre-Halving year for Ethereum. Cowen expected a downtrend before the event, but the cryptocurrency may rise during it.
ETH may close 2023 below $1,195, according to the expert. According to analyst predictions, ETH may drop below $1,400 by October 2023. Will the cryptocurrency stay at the same level till Bitcoin halves? Ethereum has maintained just under 20% of the crypto market capitalisation since the fourth quarter of 2021, despite its significant volatility.
